New mitre saw technology

I’ve always said that a mitre saw can’t compete with a tablesaw for accuracy. This Bosch unit doesn’t challenge that opinion. However, the new axial-glide technology is amazing. Instead of sliding on two rails, the blade extends by virtue of two arms attached at bearing-sealed joints. I’ve never used a mitre saw that glides as smoothly at this 12″ model. While some cuts weren’t absolutely perfect, they were still very respectable and repeatable.

The dust collection with the included bag was mediocre; with a vacuum attached, it was good. I also found the noise level much lower than expected. For more information, visit boschtools.com or call 877-267-2499.
