When you open the soft carrying case holding this compact Milwaukee driver, you may not take the tool seriously. Well, look again: good things do come in small packages. The manual says this mighty little driver has 100 in.lb. of torque with 15 clutch settings and a variable speed of 0-500 rpm. It comes with a battery-power indicator and built-in LED light, two 1.4 Ah lithium-ion batteries, a 30-minute charger and a very impressive five-year tool warranty.

So, that all looks good on paper, but how does it perform? Remarkably well. As you can imagine, the strength of this subcompact driver is that it can deliver power at a fraction of the weight and size of a larger, heavier drill. It was a real boon to me when I changed some ceiling light fixtures. Not only did I avoid fumbling with a heavy drill or screwdriver while up a ladder, but I was thankful for the well-aimed LED light to assist me with the power shut-off. Weighing in at a mere 2 lb., it’s been the driver I reach for when fatigue or space is an issue. The only things the tool seems to be missing are a belt clip and bit holder, which would have been handy.

The Milwaukee subcompact is not only a sturdy driver for contractors, but it gives women and seniors who may not have the strength for a full-sized driver the option of a serious and powerful tool. For more information, call 800-729-3878 or visit www.milwaukeetool.com.
